Body imaging is a subspecialty of diagnostic radiology that studies the chest, abdomen, and pelvis using several modalities including plain film (x-rays), fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, angiography and MRI. The gastrointestinal system is often studied by the introduction of oral contrast (such as barium) into the bowel. CT and MRI may use intravenous contrast as well.
Our imagers are all licensed medical doctors with board certification in diagnostic radiology, often with dedicated training in thoracic radiology, abdominal and genitourinary imaging, ultrasound, MRI, or interventional procedures.
