Pediatric Radiology is a specialized area within all other areas of radiology for reasons other than differences in children's and adult's bodies. Although all the same imaging modalities such as x-ray and CT are used in children, different protocols are used to optimize the scanner for the child. More importantly, it seeks to minimize each child's exposure to radiation.

Radiology and other medical tests are stressful to both children and their parents. In Pediatric Radiology, extra time is taken to provide a caring and supportive environment to make the experience as pleasant as possible for childrenand their families.
